*🪞REFLECTION:*
SHARPEN YOUR EDGE, EXPAND YOUR OPPORTUNITIES
A blunt axe can still cut wood, but it requires excessive strength, produces slower results, and wastes valuable energy. The wise worker does not simply work harder; he takes time to sharpen his instrument.
This is one of the profound principles of Ecclesiastes 10:10: wisdom teaches you to improve your capacity before demanding greater results.
Many people are praying for bigger opportunities while neglecting the sharpening of their skills. They want promotion without preparation, greater influence without greater competence, expansion without learning, and new doors without developing the capacity to handle what is behind those doors.
Wisdom says, “Sharpen your axe.”
Your gift may be genuine, but it must be developed. Your calling may be divine, but your capacity must grow. Your experience may be valuable, but continuous learning keeps you relevant.
Every time you learn something new, improve a skill, correct a weakness, deepen your understanding, strengthen your character, or acquire useful knowledge, you are sharpening your axe.
Opportunities often multiply around people who continually improve themselves.
David developed his skills before standing before Goliath. Joseph developed administrative wisdom before Pharaoh gave him national responsibility. Daniel cultivated excellence and understanding before being entrusted with influence in Babylon.
Therefore, don’t merely ask God for opportunities. Ask Him for the wisdom, discipline, knowledge, character, and competence required to recognize, maximize, and sustain those opportunities.
Sometimes the door is not the problem. The axe is blunt.
Sometimes God has already prepared the opportunity, but your present capacity cannot yet maximize it.
This month, refuse stagnation. Read. Learn. Pray. Ask questions. Seek counsel. Develop your gifts. Improve your communication. Strengthen your character. Become better at what God has placed in your hands.
When wisdom sharpens your ability, opportunities that once looked impossible can become accessible.

My Dear Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank You for the gift of life, wisdom, understanding, and divine purpose.
Today, I ask You to fill me with wisdom from above. Open my eyes to recognize the opportunities You have placed around me. Give me discernment to know what to pursue, what to reject, what to learn, what to improve, and what to leave behind.
Lord, sharpen my spiritual understanding, sharpen my mind, sharpen my skills, sharpen my character, and sharpen my capacity.
Deliver me from stagnation, complacency, laziness, ignorance, and the fear of learning something new.
Give me the humility to receive correction, the discipline to improve myself, and the courage to step into new territories.

Let Your wisdom guide my decisions, my relationships, my ministry, my career, my business, and every assignment You have committed into my hands.

Father, in the name of Jesus, I receive the wisdom to sharpen every area of my life.
Where I have become stagnant, awaken me.
Where I have become careless, discipline me.
Where I have stopped learning, restore my hunger for knowledge.
Where my skills have become outdated, give me the grace to upgrade myself.
Where I lack understanding, teach me.
Where I lack competence, train me.
Where I lack discipline, strengthen me.
Where I have weaknesses that are limiting my opportunities, reveal them to me and give me the courage to work on them.
Lord, I refuse to remain a blunt instrument in Your hands.
Sharpen my mind.
Sharpen my spiritual discernment.
Sharpen my communication.
Sharpen my leadership.
Sharpen my creativity.
Sharpen my professional and business abilities.
Sharpen my ability to relate wisely with people.

DON’T ONLY PRAY FOR AN OPEN DOOR—PREPARE FOR WHAT IS BEHIND IT
One of the greatest mistakes people make is praying for opportunities without preparing themselves for the responsibility attached to those opportunities.
If you are praying for leadership, develop leadership capacity.
If you are praying for financial increase, develop financial discipline.
If you are praying for business growth, improve your business systems.
If you are praying for ministry expansion, strengthen your character and leadership.
If you are praying for influence, become trustworthy enough to handle influence.
If you are praying for a better career, upgrade your knowledge and skills.
Opportunity without capacity can become a crisis.
Don’t despise learning. Don’t resist correction. Don’t be embarrassed to start again. Don’t allow age, past failures, or previous disappointments to convince you that you cannot improve.
There is always another level of wisdom to acquire.
Your next opportunity may already be around you—but you may need sharper vision to recognize it and greater capacity to maximize it.
Counseling Question:
What area of my life needs sharpening before I can properly maximize my next opportunity?
Identify it. Pray about it. Seek counsel. Make a plan. Start improving.
Wisdom does not merely give you opportunities; wisdom gives you the capacity to maximize them.

Father, thank You for speaking to me through Your Word.
I receive the grace to continually sharpen my life, my gifts, my skills, my character, and my understanding.
I declare that I will not remain where I am when You are calling me higher.

May every divine opportunity prepared for me locate me at the right time.
