Gratitude is not a passive feeling—it is an intentional lifestyle. It honours God, uplifts others, and softens our own hearts. As you step into this new month, don’t forget to look back with thanksgiving before you look ahead with expectation. A thankful heart becomes fertile ground for divine increase.

Almighty Father, Maker of heaven and earth, I come into this new month of August with a heart full of reverence, awe, and praise. Thank You for the gift of life, the victories of yesterday, and the promise of tomorrow. Open my heart now to a deeper understanding of gratitude—both toward You and toward the people You’ve used for my good. Let this devotion stir a spirit of thanksgiving in me that will overflow throughout this month.

Father, I thank You not just for what You’ve done, but for who You are—my Sustainer, Defender, Provider, and Redeemer. Thank You for the doors You opened and the ones You shut to protect me. Thank You for the prayers You answered and the ones You delayed to align me with Your perfect Will. Thank You for the peace that calmed me in storms, the strength that kept me standing, and the love that held me when all else failed.
Lord, in this month of August, help me to live with a memory full of Your goodness and a mouth full of praise. I rebuke every spirit of ingratitude and entitlement. I choose to be a worshipper, not a worrier. Let the light of thanksgiving flood every part of my life—my words, my walk, and my worship.

🙏 Prayer 2) *APPRECIATION FOR GOD’S USE OF PEOPLE*
Scripture: James 1:17 (KJV)
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights…”
Father, I honour You today for the channels You’ve used to bless my life. Thank You for the divine helpers, silent intercessors, unexpected givers, and faithful encouragers You sent my way. Thank You for leaders who taught me truth, the men of God who laboured spiritually to keep my spirit up, friends who stood by me, mentors who corrected me, and family members who believed in me even when I doubted myself.
I recognize that behind every act of kindness was Your hand at work. Teach me never to take people for granted or forget those who’ve stood in the gap for me. Let humility and appreciation flow from me daily. I ask You to bless every man and woman You have used to touch my life—reward their sacrifices, refresh their souls, and raise voices to speak into their own journeys as they did for mine.

🙏 Prayer 3) *BEING A VESSEL OF GRATITUDE AND HONOUR*
Scripture: Romans 12:10 (KJV)
“Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another.”
Lord, let me not only receive blessings, but also return them in the form of love, honour, honorarium , giving and gratitude. Teach me to be quick to say “thank you,” to send a note, to sow a seed, to make a call, or to offer words of encouragement. May I not be a forgetful beneficiary, but a grateful contributor.
This month, Lord, make me a vessel of appreciation. Let me honour my parents, bless my mentors, give to the servant of God, affirm my friends, and acknowledge those often overlooked. Use me to uplift the weary, to applaud the faithful, and to express what many feel but never say. Help me to be generous with both my lips and my resources.
Let me be known as one who honours God and uplifts people. May my gratitude open new doors of favour and refresh others as I have been refreshed.
