THE COUNSELOR!

My Counsel: YOU ARE NOT A MORAL POLICEMAN or POLICEWOMAN

As a follower of Christ, remember that your role is not to act as a moral policeman, constantly pointing out the flaws or failures of others. Instead, focus on reflecting the love, grace, and compassion of Jesus in your actions and words.

When Jesus interacted with people, He didn’t lead with judgment—He led with love. He didn’t condemn the woman caught in adultery but extended grace and called her to a better life. He didn’t shun sinners; He ate with them and showed them the transformative power of God’s love.

If we focus too much on enforcing moral standards, we risk creating an environment of judgment and legalism that can push people away from Christ. But when we prioritize kindness, humility, and understanding, we open the door for others to encounter God’s grace and be transformed from the inside out.

Let your life be a testimony of God’s love. Speak the truth, but do it in love. Instead of focusing on what’s wrong in others, focus on being a light that draws them to the redeeming power of Jesus. In this way, you fulfill His call to love and make disciples, not through condemnation, but through grace.

Sincerely,
