Month of _Dealing with Little Foxes_
Theme: GUARDING YOUR SPIRITUAL FIRE
*📖 SCRIPTURE FOCUS:*
ROMANS 12:11 (KJV)
> “Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord.”
*🪞REFLECTION:*
Spiritual fire can diminish when prayer, Scripture, worship, fellowship with God and spiritual discipline become neglected. Nobody usually wakes up one morning completely cold spiritually. Most times, spiritual coldness develops gradually.
It begins with little things: “I will pray later.” “I am too busy to study today.” “I can skip church this week.” “I will listen to the Word tomorrow.” Before long, what was once a burning passion for God becomes a routine that is easily abandoned.
That is how the little fox operates.
The little fox does not always destroy the garden in one dramatic attack. Sometimes, it quietly enters and begins to damage the roots, flowers and fruits. Likewise, spiritual decline often begins with seemingly harmless neglect.
You may still attend church while your prayer life is dying. You may still sing worship songs while your heart is becoming distant from God. You may still carry a Bible while losing your hunger for the Word. You may still serve in church while your secret fellowship with God is weakening.
Romans 12:11 commands us to be “fervent in spirit.” God does not want us merely to perform religious activities; He wants our hearts to remain alive toward Him.
Your spiritual fire is your responsibility to guard. You cannot afford to allow busyness, distractions, wrong priorities, offence, discouragement, worldly entertainment, unhealthy relationships or prolonged spiritual negligence to become little foxes that consume your intimacy with God.
*🔥 Do not wait until the fire goes out before you realize that you have stopped feeding it.*
Prayer feeds the fire.
The Word feeds the fire.
Worship feeds the fire.
Fellowship with God feeds the fire.
Obedience protects the fire.
Spiritual discipline keeps the fire burning.
Today, return to the altar. Rekindle your hunger. Restore your prayer life. Open the Scriptures again. Worship God with your whole heart.
Whatever is trying to reduce your passion for God must not be allowed to become the little fox that destroys your spiritual garden.

🔥 PRAYING SCRIPTURES 1
*LORD, REKINDLE MY SPIRITUAL FIRE*
📖 Leviticus 6:13 (KJV)
> “The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar; it shall never go out.”
*Life Application:*
The fire on the altar was not permitted to go out. This teaches us that spiritual fire must be deliberately maintained.
You cannot live yesterday’s spiritual life today. Yesterday’s prayer cannot replace today’s fellowship. Yesterday’s revelation cannot substitute for today’s encounter with God.
Make spiritual maintenance a daily responsibility.
Guard your prayer time.
Protect your time in the Word.
Maintain a worshipful heart.
Stay connected to godly fellowship.
Quickly repent when you recognize that you are drifting.
Do not normalize spiritual dryness. Recognize it, confront it and return to the altar.
*🙏Personal Prayer:*
Father, in the name of Jesus, I ask You to rekindle every dying flame within me.
Where my prayer life has become weak, strengthen me. Where my hunger for Your Word has diminished, awaken me again. Where worship has become routine, give me a fresh revelation of Your greatness.
Lord, deliver me from every little fox that is eating away at my spiritual passion.
I reject spiritual laziness. I reject prolonged distraction. I reject every habit that pulls my heart away from You.
Let my altar burn again!
Give me grace to seek You when I feel like praying and when I do not feel like praying. Give me discipline to remain in Your Word even when I am busy. Give me a heart that desires Your presence above every temporary pleasure.
Holy Spirit, set my heart ablaze again.
Let my life become a living testimony of someone who is fervent in spirit and serving the Lord.
In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen!

🔥 PRAYING SCRIPTURES 2
*LORD, HELP ME PROTECT WHAT YOU HAVE STARTED IN ME*
📖 2 Timothy 1:6 (KJV)
> “Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.”
*Life Application:*
God has deposited something valuable inside you, but spiritual gifts, passion and devotion must be stirred and maintained.
There will always be distractions competing for your attention. There will always be responsibilities demanding your time. There will always be voices trying to redirect your focus.
Therefore, you must become intentional about your spiritual life.
What you don’t protect can gradually become what you lose.
Do not allow your phone to receive the time that should belong to God. Do not allow entertainment to consume the hours meant for spiritual nourishment. Do not allow disappointment to make you withdraw from God. Do not allow offence to poison your fellowship with Him.
Guard your fire.
When the fire feels low, stir it.
When your hunger weakens, return to the Word.
When prayer becomes difficult, pray anyway.
When you feel distant from God, draw near again.
*🙏 Personal Prayer:*
Father, I receive grace to guard my spiritual life diligently.
I will not allow distractions to steal my devotion. I will not allow offence to separate me from fellowship with You. I will not allow success, responsibilities, entertainment or worldly pursuits to become more important than my relationship with You.
Every little fox attacking my spiritual fire—be exposed and removed in Jesus’ name!
I receive fresh hunger for prayer.
I receive fresh hunger for Your Word.
I receive fresh passion for worship.
I receive fresh love for Your presence.
I receive fresh strength to obey You.
Lord, help me to protect the gift, grace, passion and calling You have placed within me.
Let my spiritual fire burn brighter, stronger and consistently.
May I never become spiritually cold while appearing outwardly religious.
Let my heart remain tender toward You. Let my ears remain sensitive to the Holy Spirit. Let my feet remain committed to the path of righteousness.
My fire will not go out!
My passion for God will not die!
My altar will not become desolate!
I will remain fervent in spirit, serving the Lord!
In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen!

*🧠 COUNSELING INSIGHT:*
Spiritual fire rarely dies suddenly; it usually dies through repeated neglect.
One missed prayer may not destroy your prayer life. One neglected Bible study may not make you spiritually cold. But when neglect becomes a pattern, the heart gradually adjusts to life without spiritual discipline.
This is why you must pay attention to the little foxes.
Ask yourself honestly:
What has been consuming the time I once gave to God?
What distraction has weakened my concentration during prayer?
What relationship is affecting my spiritual appetite?
What offence am I carrying that is affecting my fellowship with God?
What habit keeps making me postpone spiritual responsibilities?
When was the last time I genuinely enjoyed God’s presence?
Do not condemn yourself if you discover that your fire has reduced. Return to the altar.
God is not looking for perfection before He receives you. He is calling you back into fellowship.
Start again.
Pray again.
Study again.
Worship again.
Seek God again.
A neglected fire can be rekindled when you return to the altar.

*🙏 CLOSING PRAYER:*
Father, thank You for speaking to me through Your Word.
I receive grace to guard my spiritual fire. Every little fox that has been eating away at my passion for You is uprooted in Jesus’ name.
I recover my hunger for prayer.
I recover my passion for Your Word.
I recover my joy in worship.
I recover my delight in Your presence.
Lord, let the fire upon my altar burn continually. Let my heart remain sensitive to the Holy Spirit.
When distractions arise, give me discernment. When temptation comes, give me strength. When discouragement comes, give me faith. When I become weary, renew my strength.
I declare that my spiritual fire will not go out. My love for God will not grow cold. My passion for righteousness will not die.
I will remain fervent in spirit.
I will remain steadfast in faith.
I will remain hungry for God.
I will remain useful in His Kingdom.
May my life continually burn for Jesus and become a light that draws others to Him.
In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen! 🔥
