GIVE ME A HEART OF GRATITUDE
(1 Thessalonians 5:18 – “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”)

Gratitude is more than a polite response to kindness; it is a spiritual posture that reflects trust in God’s sovereignty. In our journey of faith, cultivating a heart of gratitude is essential to going higher with Jesus Christ. It is easy to give thanks when everything is going well, but true spiritual maturity is reflected when we can give thanks in all circumstances—good or bad.

A heart of gratitude shifts our focus from what is missing to what God is doing. It fuels faith, strengthens patience, and opens the door to divine favor. Ingratitude, on the other hand, breeds discontentment and blocks spiritual progress. When we intentionally thank God—even in pain, delay, or uncertainty—we align with His will and make room for His power to be revealed in our situation.

Gratitude also helps us maintain peace and joy. It reminds us of past victories, renews our hope, and guards our hearts against worry. When thanksgiving becomes a lifestyle, our perspective changes, our spirit soars, and our lives become testimonies of God’s faithfulness.

In this month of Going Higher with Jesus Christ, let us ask the Lord: “Give me a heart of gratitude.” Let every breath be a song of thanks, every step an act of praise, and every challenge an opportunity to say, “Lord, I trust You, and I thank You.”
