💎 DIVINE COUNSEL: HONOUR THE PASTOR THAT LABOURS OVER YOU 💎
(Based on 1 Timothy 5:17 – “Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.”)
—
My dear friend,
I want you to pause and think deeply about the people God has used — and is still using — to shape your spiritual journey. That pastor who prays for you, counsels you, and feeds you with the Word of life is not just doing a routine duty; he is labouring over your soul.
Many times, the labour of a true pastor is unseen. He carries the burdens of the people quietly in prayer, fights unseen battles on their behalf, and often sacrifices his own comfort for their growth. He rejoices when you succeed and grieves when you fall. Yet, in many cases, such labour goes unnoticed, unappreciated, or even misunderstood.
The Scripture calls such a person “worthy of double honour.” That means, God expects you to do more than just say “thank you.” He expects you to value, support, and bless that man or woman of God tangibly and sincerely. When you honour your pastor, you are not just honouring a man — you are honouring the grace of God that flows through him.

Here’s my counsel to you:
1️⃣ Don’t be too familiar with your pastor.
Familiarity is the enemy of impartation. You cannot receive from the grace you do not respect. Treat your pastor with the same reverence you would show to God’s presence, because he represents that presence to you.
2️⃣ Pray for your pastor.
Pastors fight spiritual battles most people never see. Your intercession can be a shield that strengthens their hands and keeps the oil on their head fresh.
3️⃣ Support them materially.
Paul said, “If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things?” (1 Corinthians 9:11). Blessing your pastor financially or materially is not buying miracles; it’s showing gratitude for spiritual investment.
4️⃣ Obey godly instructions.
True honour is reflected in obedience. When your pastor gives counsel aligned with God’s Word, act on it promptly. Your obedience provokes divine manifestation.
5️⃣ Defend their integrity.
Never join voices that tear down your pastor. Stand for them in truth and protect their honour in your absence. God takes it personally when His servants are ridiculed.

The Reward of Honour
When you honour the vessel, you partake of the virtue. The grace you respect is the grace that will work for you. The Shunammite woman honoured Elisha with her resources, and heaven honoured her with what she lacked — a child. The Philippians supported Paul’s ministry, and heaven supplied their every need.
If you desire the flow of grace, show the seed of honour. If you want access to divine blessings, recognize the labour of the one God has placed over your soul.

💭 Final Word of Advice
> Don’t wait until your pastor is in need before you honour him. Make honour your habit, not your reaction. Appreciate their sacrifices, pray for their strength, and let them know their labour over you is not in vain.
When you honour your pastor, you set in motion a cycle of divine favour that money cannot buy. God Himself becomes your rewarder.
