WHAT LOVE CAN AND CANNOT SURVIVE

By Pastor / Counselor Wale-Rich Oladunjoye

Love is one of the most powerful forces on earth. It gives meaning to relationships and adds color to life. A genuine love relationship is built not just on feelings, but on trust, truth, and mutual respect.

True love is resilient. It can endure absence and withstand the pressure of long distances. When grounded in commitment, it can survive the pain of sickness and the challenges of poverty. Even death cannot erase the memory of real love — it echoes in the hearts of those who truly cared.

But there are things love cannot survive.

Love cannot thrive in an atmosphere of betrayal — where loyalty is traded for momentary pleasure. It cannot survive the sting of lies, which poison the purity of truth and shatter confidence. Doubt corrodes love, making one question what was once certain. Distrust locks the heart in a cage, denying the freedom love needs to breathe. And deep disappointment, especially when it stems from repeated hurts or unfulfilled promises, slowly drains love of its strength.

In the end, love is not just a feeling — it’s a choice, a daily decision to nurture trust, honesty, loyalty, and hope. Where these virtues abound, love will flourish. But when they are absent, even the deepest love can fade into silence.

Protect your love by preserving your integrity.
