THE POWER OF YOUR WORDS

Dear Friend,

I want to remind you of the power of your words. Just as a knife wound may heal with time, the wounds caused by harsh or careless words can linger in a person’s heart for years, sometimes even a lifetime. Words have the power to uplift or destroy, to heal or to hurt.

Before you speak, pause and consider: Will my words bring life, encouragement, and healing, or will they cause pain, discouragement, and division? A single moment of anger or frustration can lead to words that may be regretted but never forgotten. Proverbs 15:1 says, “A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.” Choose to speak with kindness, patience, and wisdom.

If you have hurt someone with your words, do not let pride stop you from making amends. Apologize, seek reconciliation, and commit to using your tongue to bless rather than wound. And if you have been hurt by words, seek God’s grace to forgive and heal.

May your words always reflect love, wisdom, and the grace of God.

Blessings,
