My Counsel: CONTROLLING ANGER WITH WISDOM
My dear friend, I want to encourage you to guard your heart and mind when anger arises. As the saying goes, “When anger enters the mind, wisdom departs.” This means that when you allow anger to take control, it blinds you to reason and can lead to decisions you might later regret.
The Bible reminds us in Proverbs 14:29, “Whoever is patient has great understanding, but one who is quick-tempered displays folly.” Anger can make you say or do things that hurt others, damage relationships, or even hinder God’s blessings in your life. Instead of reacting in the heat of the moment, take a step back, breathe, and seek God’s wisdom.
When you feel anger rising, pause and pray. Ask God for patience and clarity before responding. Learn to walk away from situations that provoke unnecessary conflict, and always choose words that bring peace rather than strife. Remember, true strength is not in reacting with anger but in mastering self-control.
May God give you the grace to handle every situation with wisdom and a calm spirit.
Sincerely
