OVERCOMING STUBBORN HABITS
If you’re struggling with stubborn habits, I want to encourage you with a simple but powerful truth: the key to breaking free is not to fight them in your own strength but to surrender them to God. I understand how frustrating it can be to feel trapped in a cycle you can’t seem to escape. But focusing all your energy on the problem often makes it feel bigger and more powerful. Instead, shift your focus to God and trust Him to lead you through the process of transformation.
2 Corinthians 3:5 reminds us, “Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God.” This means you don’t have to rely on your own abilities to overcome. God is your source of strength, and when you lean on Him, He empowers you to overcome what seems impossible in your own strength.
Start by surrendering your struggle to God in prayer. Acknowledge your need for His help and commit to relying on His grace moment by moment. Instead of trying harder, focus on drawing closer to Him. Spend time in His Word, which will renew your mind and help you align your thoughts with His will. Listen for His guidance through the Holy Spirit, and take each step in obedience to His leading.
Remember, surrender is not about giving up; it’s about handing over control to the One who has the power to bring lasting change. It’s a partnership with God, where you trust Him to do what you cannot do on your own. As you walk in this surrender, you’ll find His strength replacing your weakness, His peace calming your frustration, and His grace breaking the chains that have held you captive.
Victory is not just possible; it’s promised when you let God take the lead. So don’t carry this burden alone. Trust Him, lean on Him, and watch Him transform your life in ways you never imagined.
Sincerely,
