HOW GOD FEELS ABOUT YOU
In Isaiah 43:4, God declares, “You are precious to me.” This simple yet profound statement reveals a truth that goes beyond any feelings of unworthiness or inadequacy. Often, people try to feel valued by striving harder, doing more, or promising to improve. But, just as redecorating a house with a cracked foundation won’t stop it from eventually collapsing, no amount of effort can create the inner security that only God’s perspective of us can provide. Understanding how God truly feels about us is the foundation upon which a healthy, stable sense of self-worth is built.
1. God Sees You as Lovable
God’s love for you is deep and unwavering. Isaiah 43:4-5 says, “You are precious to me. You are honored, and I love you. Do not be afraid, for I am with you.” This promise is a source of assurance and security. God’s love places you “between His shoulders” (Deuteronomy 33:12), signifying a position of safety and closeness. His love is not dependent on your accomplishments or status; it’s unconditional and provides a firm foundation upon which to build a stable sense of worth.
2. God Sees You as Valuable
If past experiences or relationships left you feeling unwanted, God’s message is radically different. He established your value through the ultimate sacrifice—Jesus’s death on the cross. Galatians 2:20 reminds us, “The Son of God… loved [you] and gave Himself for [you].” God didn’t just send anyone; He sent His very best. This act defines your worth. To Him, you are worth everything, and this truth stands firm regardless of your feelings or past.
3. God Sees You as Capable
Growing up without support or encouragement can impact our sense of capability, often leading us to compensate by overachieving or striving to prove ourselves. But God knows you are capable, not because of external validation, but because He has given you unique abilities. 1 Peter 4:10 says, “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others.” Furthermore, God has seated you with Christ (Ephesians 2:6), positioning you alongside His Son and giving you the confidence to live with purpose and impact.
Ultimately, knowing how God feels about you transforms your sense of worth. He sees you as lovable, valuable, and capable. When you stand on this foundation, you’ll find that your feelings of inadequacy fade, replaced by a stable confidence in God’s unconditional love for you.
